Peru in Pictures

Though I am feeling ready to come home, I have tried to make an effort to really take in the scenes that constantly surround us here in Cusco during our last month here. These are things that have become familiar and dear to us and images that will forever be etched in our minds. Not everything in Peru is beautiful. In fact, there is alot of ugliness. There is trash all over the place, unfinished or falling down buildings, unpaved roads or roads full of potholes, broken marriages, alcoholism, and sickness. However, there are alot of beautiful things. We look at the Andes mountains every day, farmland, fresh produce at the market, flowers during rainy season, precious children, and hardworking Quechua people.

As an effort to help you grasp a real view of Peru and as a reminder that we can look back on weeks, months and years from now, we are going to post a series of "Peru in Pictures". Most all of these pictures are taken during our everyday activities. This is the world around us right now.
