Happy Thanksgiving

Yesterday, we enjoyed our Thanksgiving in Peru. It was quite traditional despite being so many miles from home. We spent the morning relaxing and cooking at home and then joined the rest of our missionary team for lunch at the home of another family. We had quite a spread complete with turkey (which is hard to come by here), dressing, gravy, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, corn pudding, and cranberry sauce.

The dessert table (my favorite table)

Did I mentin the desserts...pumpkin, apple, chocolate pecan pie and homemade toffee...Yumm!! Of note...chocolate pecan pie cooks a bit differently at 11,000 feet using glucomeil instead of corn syrup. Still tastes good though!!

The kids table...I think the kids outnumbered the adults...15 to 14

Luke enjoyed lots of "new" toys and lots of kids to entertain him

11 months on Thanksgiving Day!!

Thanksgiving wouldn't have been complete without getting to watch some college football, right?? And we did!! Our friends actually got the A&M vs. t.u. game on Direct TV. We didn't get to watch the entire game, but I was still proud of the Ags for giving t.u. a fight. Gig'em!!

We have so much to be thankful for...family, friends, health, joy, our Savior. Happy Thanksgiving!!
